Andy is a keen observer who for many years was Vice President of the Irish Astronomical Association. He has been promising himself a meteor camera for a long time however Jim Rowe proved to be the catalyst in achieving that aim (with help from William Stewart in providing the equipment). Thus far Andy has been amazed at both the number and brilliance of the objects captured and also the number of cloudy nights we experience ... he reckons this is far higher than it was ten or fifteen years ago! Frustrating! Andy is fortunate to have an outlook over the Irish Sea towards Scotland and this allows his camera the darkest aspect away from the light pollution of the surrounding developments of Bangor and greater Belfast.
