Kappa Cygnid Fireball of 28th July 2012 at 00:58:47 GMT / 01:58:47 BST

The capture from Ravensmoor is partially obscured by clouds but does gives rise to a rather dramatic sequence. Thankfully the view from Leeds was clear and we were able to derive an estimate for the orbit. Note how the ion trail persists for a few seconds after the meteor has passed.

Clicking on the image of the meteor itself will download / play a .wmv file of the event itself. Details of the date, time and location are shown in the text at the bottom of each video clip. In addition, we've also included images of the derived ground track and orbit.
