Fred has had an interest in all things astronomical and space related since the International Geophysical Year of 1957. His first telescope was a 4" home built reflector. Currently he regularly uses a 14" SCT to image deep sky objects - particularly planetary nebula - and submits his images to the BAA Deep Sky Section.
As a licensed radio ham (M0FJS) he became interested in meteor detection using a FunCube Dongle to monitor radio meteor scatter and progressed to video detection with assistance from William Stewart.
